I read A Man Called Ove and absolutely loved it! When I saw that this was available on Netgalley, I pounced on it.
Britt-Marie is the epitome of passive-aggressive, or "helpful" as she calls it. She has just left her husband and finds a temporary job in Borg, a tiny town decimated by the departure of the only company that provided jobs to its residents. Although Britt-Marie is standoffish, the reader sees, through flashbacks and memories, why she is how she is. I absolutely love her and how she fits (or not) into Borg. The true depth of her character is seen in a scene towards the end of the book and if you haven't fallen in love with her by then, you will at that point.
My only complaint is the ending. I would rather have more of a conclusion, especially with someone as rigid as Britt-Marie. I believe after reading this book, Britt-Marie would have tossed it aside and said, "Ha! That is not the ending I would have written."
