I didn't like how it took forever for Abby's past to come up. The way she and America acted, it was mind blowingly horrible. I was disappointed when it came to light. A girl who grew up gambling with a dad who was a drunk? Come on. That's not too bad. The reader was led to believe she was promiscuous, got into trouble a lot, and needed to get away because of a bad reputation.
Other than that, I enjoyed the complexities in Travis and his relationship with Abby. He is definitely the type of guy a girl would want to "save". I cried several times during this book because of something touching he did or said. When he bought her favorite foods to stock in his kitchen, I just melted.
I'm excited to read the next book in this series, though I hope the characters do calm down a little.
